Brought to you by HQ Group (Arbory Bar & Eatery, HER, Straight Up Cocktails), Afloat is an ever-evolving hospitality venture that comes to life annually between September and May.

With each season's reopening, the venue undergoes a complete refit, unveiling a brand-new theme annually. Designed to emulate some of the world's most exotic international destinations, each new theme is embraced through the venue's interior and design, food and beverage offerings, music, and entertainment programming. The annual re-launch has become synonymous with the Melbourne summer social season and signifies that the good times have arrived.

We are currently seeking experienced Chef de Parties to join our team. This is a hands-on role overseeing kitchen sections for Season 10 AFLOAT RIO.

The role

  • You will play an integral role in a large kitchen team
  • You will be organised and keen to lead junior chefs and cooks
  • You will maintain accurate recipes and ordering systems
  • You will work in a high-volume environment but not compromise on quality and preparation of ingredients
  • You will have demonstrated expertise in cookery and a broad knowledge of food
  • You will be supported by senior management
