About the role

Join our Psychological Services Team with Better Together Community Support. We are seeking a Psychologist, Intern Psychologist, Mental Health Accredited Social Worker or Mental Health Endorsed OT.

This position is based in Atherton, 1.5 hours from Cairns, North QLD. This position can be Full time or Permanent part time (0.8FTE) employment, on negotiation.

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for clients
  • Provide individual, family and group-based therapy and counselling sessions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, coordinated care
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based practices and solution-focused therapy
  • Maintain detailed client records and documentation in line with professional standards
  • Participate in continuing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices

Qualifications

  • Psychologist- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
  • Social Worker- Mental Health Accredited.
  • Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Endorsed OT.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of contemporary principles and practices in psychology, including psychometric testing, assessments, and intervention specific to individual needs.
  • Skills in negotiating outcomes and the ability to prioritise activities according to Better Together objectives as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, while exercising professional judgment within prescribed areas.
