About the Opportunity

SALTAS is growing again and looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our Broodstock team. Supporting the production of our elite broodstock your role will contribute to spawning operations, fish health, general fish husbandry and data collection to inform breeding decisions. You'll work with advanced Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and flow-through systems, playing a crucial role in sustainable salmon production. This is a hands-on, physical role for someone who thrives outdoors and brings a proactive, practical mindset to their work.  Whether you're just starting out or looking to take the next step in your aquaculture journey, SALTAS offers a hands-on, purpose-driven role where your work genuinely matters.

What You'll Do

You'll be part of a team committed to best practices, innovation, and fish welfare, involved in tasks like:

  • Monitoring and managing water quality (RAS and flow-through).
  • Observing fish health to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare.
  • Maintain a relentless commitment to safety in all tasks, including working in confined spaces.
  • Collecting and entering data to inform decisions
  • Maintaining systems and infrastructure
  • Carrying out husbandry and care for all life stages including assisting with spawning, grading and transferring fish stocks
  • Routine cleaning and facility upkeep
