B-Double Milk Tanker Driver

7R Logistics is currently looking for a milk tanker driver to be based at Mt Gambier. We welcome experienced MC drivers as well as those who have recently upgraded, or planning to upgrade, their HR or HC license. The role is permanent but if you prefer casual work hours, let's talk. We'll work around your preference as much as we can. We also have a modern fleet and great workshop facility at the depot, so equipment should always be in excellent condition.

The Role

The work involves collecting milk from local farms and delivering to local factories on some shifts, or driving to Adelaide and back on others. This means there's plenty of variety and interest in the work. There are processes you'll learn around food hygiene and safety, and we'll also work with you on driving routines and schedules too.

Shift length is often in the 12-14 hour range, and you can go home at the end of every shift – no multi-day trips. There is no time-pressure, and we encourage you to drive carefully and take the breaks you need to manage your safety and fatigue.

The roster for the team covers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, with drivers rotating through days on and off fairly, generally on a 4 - 4 pattern. There are often opportunities for extra work, so long as we know your fatigue is being managed. The roster is set out in advance, so you can plan your home and work life balance.

Training

Our vehicles are a mix of A-doubles and B-doubles, so you will need an MC license to operate them on your own. However, we know there are some great drivers who are just looking for an opportunity, so if you have an HC or even HR license, and want to upgrade but are unsure if work is available, this could be your ideal opportunity to make that move. Some of our best, safest drivers have recently upgraded, so don't be put off.

Full training for the milk collection is provided and you will find there is always support available for questions that come up as you work.

You'll need:

• MC license.
• A sound driving history and safety-first mindset.
• Applicants must demonstrate a recent clean driving period showing commitment to safe driving practices.
• Cooperative, considerate and inclusive work habits.
• To prioritise your own safety and wellbeing, and that of others at work and on the road.
• Comfort with basic technology systems.
• To be professional, well-presented, fit, drug and alcohol free before and through every shift.
• To have BFM or be willing to get BFM certification (we can help to guide you through that).
