FULL-TIME GROUNDSPERSON - CASINO GOLF CLUB

38 Hours Per Week + Rostered Weekend Work

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance and presentation of the Golf Course to a high standard. The role involves hands-on outdoor work, operation of turf and garden equipment, and contributing to a safe and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Turf & Course Maintenance

  • Mowing greens, tees, surrounds, fairways and rough using ride-on and walk-behind mowers.
  • Raking bunkers and maintaining sand levels and edges
  • Setting up the course daily, including moving tee markers, changing holes/cups.
  • Repairing divots, pitch marks, and general turf wear
  • Assisting with irrigation checks and watering of greens and reporting faults.

Horticulture & Grounds

  • Trimming, pruning, hedging, and maintaining gardens and landscaped areas.
  • Weed control using herbicides and manual removal
  • Assisting with planting, mulching, and general beautification projects.

Equipment & Machinery

  • Safely operating small plant and equipment (whipper-snippers, blowers, spray units etc)
  • Safely operate ride-on turf equipment
  • Basic cleaning and maintenance of tools and machinery
  • Reporting faults or safety concerns promptly

Renovation & Project Work

  • Assisting with season renovations including coring, scarifying, and topdressing etc
  • Involvement in construction or repair work on bunkers, pathways, drainage, tees and greens.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Basic understanding of safe work practices and willingness to follow WHS guidelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience in golf course maintenance, sports turf, landscaping, or similar outdoor labouring roles.
  • Awareness of golf course etiquette and how play interacts with maintenance activities.
  • Chemical handling certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Drivers licence
  • Ability to operate ride on turf equipment
