Wynnum State High School is seeking a friendly, reliable, and motivated Canteen Assistant to join our school community. As the Canteen Assistant, you will perform a variety of catering and cleaning activities to ensure the effective operations of the kitchen/canteen, perform duties that adhere to the maintenance
of safe and hygienic operations within the kitchen/canteen.
This is a temporary part-time position (60 hours per fortnight or 0.79FTE) until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined. If you have a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to promoting healthy eating and a

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Deliver high-quality canteen and catering services, including food preparation, counter service, table clearing, and cleaning duties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for food preparation, storage, and handling in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Follow established procedures and daily menu plans, reporting any equipment faults promptly to the Canteen Supervisor.
- Operate the cash register, manage transactions, and provide friendly, efficient customer service to all clients.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive workplace by following WHS practices, promoting security, and actively engaging in team activities, performance reviews, and professional development.
The Canteen Assistant reports to the reports to the Canteen Supervisor on operational matters and to the Business Services Manager on administrative matters pertaining to leave and salary.
