Wynnum State High School is seeking a Finance Coordinator to oversees the school's financial and retail operations, including daily management of finance and retail staff, and supervision of the Tuckshop and Uniform Shop. Working closely with the Business Manager and leadership team, the role ensures
compliance with departmental policies, manages accounting systems, prepares financial reports, and supports informed decision-making. The position also oversees asset management, monitors POS systems, drives improvements and innovation, and provides high-level administrative and financial support to
the Principal and Business Manager. This is a temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Provide daily line management for the school's Canteen Assistant, Uniform Convenor, Canteen Supervisor, Accounts Receivable Officer, and Accounts Payable Officer, in collaboration with the current school A06 Business Manager.
- Oversee the operation of our retail enterprises (School Tuckshop and Uniform Shop), including managing Flexischools, monitoring stock, implementing improvements, and driving innovative practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial services in consultation with the school Business Manager, Principal, and leadership team, ensuring school financial requirements are met and compliant with departmental policies and procedures.
- Operate autonomously in providing comprehensive business services to the school, often in a complex environment that requires interpreting information, adapting processes, and making informed decisions.
- Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial statements and reports to support informed decision-making across school operations.
- Oversee asset management from retail enterprises, maintaining detailed oversight of school assets and ensuring timely repair, replacement, or disposal in line with departmental guidelines.
- Understand, maintain, and develop accounting systems and processes as required to ensure efficiency, transparency, and compliance with audit requirements.
- Apply knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems to support the effective operation and financial accuracy of school retail outlets.
- Provide a full range of administrative support, including preparing reports and correspondence, identifying issues, conducting research, seeking expert advice, and recommending practical solutions.
