About the role:

The Office for Small and Family Business provides a conduit to access relevant government information, support services and tailored assistance in one place, to help business owners to stay informed, navigate challenges and make the most of available opportunities.

As a Business Support Officer in the team you will be responsible for providing the most up to date information to help South Australian businesses navigate grants, support programs and resources to help with successfully starting, running and growing their business.

You will also be required to contribute to the development and maintenance of relationships with cross agency, cross government and industry partners to support small and family businesses across metropolitan Adelaide, regional and rural South Australia and will be required to work in region and rural areas to provide business support services.

Key Competencies:

To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:

• Experience working with the small businesses sector and have and an understanding of the opportunities, complexities and challenges that businesses face in South Australia
• Experience in account management to ensure professional delivery of customer service and the delivery of solution based results
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and management with a proven ability to work closely with businesses and business associations to increase the capability of South Australian small and family businesses
• Experience identifying areas for collaboration at planning stages and recognising where others within an organisation, across government and other stakeholders have information and experience to contribute.
• Understanding the needs and requirements to a diverse range of stakeholders and successfully balancing their competing demands; develops and maintains the confidence of internal and external customers.
• Regularly thinks outside the given parameters and identifies innovative and creative ideas to solve business problems; open to possibility, and confident to engage and work with the unknown.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary ASO6 $98,478 to $104,165 p.a. plus superannuation

• Essential:Nil

• Desirable:Formal qualifications in business management or business administration are highly regarded.

Special Conditions:

• The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) initially for up to 2 years months.

• Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC).
