Council is seeking 2 Full-Time Plumbers to join our team

Purpose:

To contribute to water, sewerage and gas maintenance, construction, and compliance activities to ensure the provision of a safe, reliable, and sustainable utilities network for the community and Council infrastructure and facilities.

This position will be focused on the Roma area, and will provide trade support to other towns, as required.

• This position is required to be rostered for after-hours on-call duties and/or may be required to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:

Mandatory qualifications and licenses:

To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you meet (*or able to acquire/complete within twelve (12) months from commencement) the below mandatory requirements for the role:

• Current C (Car) Class Driver License
• Certificate III in Plumbing
• General Construction Induction (White) Card
• Maranoa Regional Council Verification of Skill Level to Competently Operate a Backhoe* (In-house assessment)
• Apply First Aid and Provide CPR*
• Operate Breathing Apparatus – Open & Closed circuits*
• Liquefied Chlorine Gas Training*
• Working at Heights*
• Working in Confined Spaces*
• Authorized Person & Local Government Worker Training*
• Tetanus & Twinrix (hepatitis A & hepatitis B) Vaccine*

Desirable qualifications and licenses:

Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licenses are considered beneficial to the role:

• State Penalty Enforcement Registry Training
• MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) Class Driver License
• Join HDPE pipe using electrofusion and Butt-welding techniques.
• Basic computer and technology literacy.

Position Details:

• Position based in Roma, QLD
• Full-time, permanent position - 38 hours per week
