Tax Accountant - Full Time

$ 85k - $ 100k (Package)

Overtime available, Performance Incentives and additional Bonus Potential

We are a boutique and growing Accounting practice in the North-Eastern suburb of Eltham.

We require a dedicated and professional person who is a current CPA or CA qualified member (or studying towards the qualification), with preferably 4-5 years of Public Practice experience. You will work closely with the partners and managers, have direct client contact, and be a key member of our team.

Due to a significant increase in the growth of our business, an exciting opportunity for a full time, office based Tax Professional has become available. This role has been created for the right candidate looking to grow their knowledge and experience in the Taxation Industry. You will be exposed to many different business clients who operate in a wide variety of industries.

To be successful in this role you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must also have excellent organisational and time management skills, have an ability to meet deadlines, effectively prioritise work, quickly resolve issues, and have a strong work ethic. As you will be a key member of our team, you must be reliable, honest and dependable.

The skills that the position requires include, but are not limited to;

• Ability to independently process and prepare Income Tax Returns including: Company, Trust, Partnerships and other Structures

• Ability to independently process and prepare accurate Financial Statements

• Knowledge of technical GST issues and ability to prepare Business Activity Statements

• Knowledge of Fringe Benefits Tax, Payroll Tax and other lodgement requirements

• A strong knowledge of Trusts, Division 7A and technical Company & Trust issues

• A strong knowledge of small business CGT concessions

• An excellent knowledge in all areas of Taxation

Strong Experience in Software Packages such as Xero, MYOB and Excel will be required.

Experience in HandiSoft is advantageous, but not mandatory.
