Transform Mental Healthcare with Us

At The Talbot Centre, we are not just part of the healthcare system—we are here to transform it. We believe every person deserves to know their worth, feel a sense of belonging, and be supported to grow into their full potential. Our mission is to challenge the status quo and pioneer a new kind of person-centred care—one that is deeply human, accessible, and empowering. We are reimagining healthcare, breaking down barriers, and creating real change for individuals, families, and communities.

If you're driven by purpose and want to be part of something bigger, this is where you belong.

Be Part of a Movement, Not Just a Workplace: Our Approach to HealthCare

At The Talbot Centre, we are focused on providing holistic, inclusive, and affirming care to individuals with a range of complex mental health needs. Our niche areas of focus include:

  • Eating and feeding disorders
  • Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders
  • Trauma and complex presentations
  • Anxiety presentations
  • Child and family mental health
  • Supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, including neurodivergent folk and Christian clients seeking faith-aligned care

We integrate relational approaches—such as schema therapy, attachment-based interventions, and psychodynamic principles—with skills-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, and DBT. This allows us to support clients in understanding and transforming underlying patterns while equipping them with practical tools to navigate challenges. If this balanced, integrative approach resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.

Our multidisciplinary team provides collaborative, whole-person care that adapts to the needs of each individual. We are committed to reducing stigma, challenging outdated treatment models, and fostering autonomy in recovery and mental well-being. Our approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, fat-positive and culturally responsive, ensuring every client feels seen, heard, and supported. We value lived experience perspectives alongside research and clinical expertise, ensuring our work is both evidence-based and deeply human.

If you are passionate about delivering meaningful care in an environment that values innovation and inclusivity, we'd love to hear from you.

Build Your Career, Your Way

We recognise that career satisfaction looks different for everyone, so we work with our psychologists to design roles that align with their passions and aspirations. Whether you're an early career psychologist, an experienced clinician, or a leader looking for new opportunities, we have a place for you.

  • Graduate Program – Full-time, employed structured development pathway with extensive training & supervision. This pathway is suitable for clinical registrars and early career psychologists with full registration.
  • Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist – Flexible opportunities (3-5 days employed or 1-2 days contracting).
  • Leadership & Supervision – Pathways to Board Approved Supervision, team leadership, and service innovation. We currently have opportunities for new and experienced supervisors available.

Our preference is to engage someone in an employed capacity part time or full time (3-5 days per week), however, we are open to contracting (1-2 days per week) for the right applicant.

Due to current demand, we have a specific need for clinicians with experience or interest working with children and families with a range of presentations and/or adolescent and adult clients with complex presentations including OCD, eating disorders OR trauma (interest in schema therapy would be highly regarded). There is capacity to work with other age groups and client presentations as well for a balanced case load if this is your preference.

Prior experience in these areas is desirable but not essential—we provide extensive in-house training to support your development. We are also interested to hear from clinicians with other niche interests. Please note that we are unable to take on provisional psychologists for this role.

Why The Talbot Centre?

At The Talbot Centre, we don't just offer jobs—we offer a place to belong. We're looking for someone who isn't just searching for their next role, but a team where they can grow, thrive, and make a real impact for years to come. We are not a private practice; we are a private outpatient service with a unique organisational structure designed to provide the best possible support for our staff which in turn results in the highest quality care for our community. If you're looking for a meaningful, long-term career in a workplace that truly values you, we'd love to hear from you.

The Talbot Centre is a multi-award-winning, premier healthcare service in Northwest Sydney. We were awarded Team Culture Excellence at the Australian Allied Health Awards in 2024, reflecting our commitment to a supportive and thriving workplace. Our director is also a past recipient of the Excellence in Allied Health Leadership & Management Award As we can no longer consistently meet the demand for our services and aim to keep wait times as short as possible for our patients, we are looking to add an additional psychologist to our team.

Some examples of our philosophy in action include:

  • Providing size-inclusive furniture for staff and clientele
  • Liaising with neurodivergent collaborators for research and treatment purposes
  • Creating a series of inclusive practice guidelines that govern how we engage at work
  • Providing workplace accommodations for neurodivergent staff

Our team includes psychologists of varying backgrounds and experience levels, dietitians, speech pathologists, and a paediatrician (with further expansion of services planned within the next 12 months).
