Sonoma Baking Company is one of Sydney's original artisan sourdough bakeries, built on humble beginnings, quality products and uncompromising standards.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to support our day-to-day food safety and quality operations. This role ensures products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance through HACCP, GMP, WQA, BRC and customer protocols. It's a hands-on position focused on monitoring, documentation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily QC checks and maintain food safety records.
  • Assist with HACCP, GMP and compliance programs.
  • Conduct audits (e.g., hygiene, pest control, cleaning) and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Support customer and third-party audits.
  • Help investigate complaints, traceability, packaging and labelling compliance.
  • Maintain QA documents, SOPs and reports in SAP.
  • Assist with training and communication of food safety procedures.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field.
  • 1–3 years' QA/QC experience in food manufacturing (bakery/café experience a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety systems.
  • Good documentation, reporting and systems skills (SAP desirable).
  • Detail-oriented, organised and proactive with a passion for quality.
