Senior Network Automation Engineer

Leading Government client (consulting through FinXL)

FinXL Professional Services is a leading IT consultancy that partners with clients to bridge the gap between business needs and technology capabilities. Since 2003, we've been delivering high-value ICT services across government, finance, telecommunications, and enterprise sectors.

FinXL is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Government client on a key transformation engagement. FinXL is also able to take over existing visas and provide sponsorship for consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Design canonical role/subnet/service object models for ASA/CSM and ACI/APIC
  • Validate and sign off candidate rules; lead passive and canary deployments
  • Produce runbooks, emergency rollback procedures, and change control artefacts
  • Mentor automation engineers on APIC payloads and CSM job design
  • Monitor post-deploy telemetry and authorise reverts when SLA thresholds exceed
  • Configure and manage F5 GTM and LTM for application traffic distribution
  • Develop and maintain network automation scripts and workflows using Python and Terraform

Key Skills & Experience

  • Deep experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco ACI and APIC REST/API models
  • Proven design and execution of enterprise firewall policy rollouts
  • Strong troubleshooting and capacity planning skills
  • Hands-on experience with F5 GTM (Global Traffic Manager) and LTM
  • Proficiency in network automation using Python and Terraform
  • CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certification
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for network automation
