Join us as an On-Call Special Needs School Bus Driver and become a vital part of our supportive and dedicated team Ventura is dedicated to assisting any suitable applicants with obtaining their MR Licence for this position. This is a great role that assists with on-going training to provide consistent learning and safety for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reliable transportation for students with special needs.
  • Create a welcoming, understanding and positive environment for students and their families.
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides and other staff to ensure every child's needs are met.
  • Stay punctual and adapt to last-minute route or schedule changes as needed.
  • Perform pre and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition. Reporting any issues promptly.
  • Act swiftly and calmly in emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • A valid MR Licence or higher, with a clean driving record.
  • Prior Heavy Vehicle driving experience, preferred.
  • A compassionate and reliable individual with strong problem solving skills.
  • The ability to assist students with varying needs, including lifting or guiding as necessary.
  • Availability for on-call assignments during school hours.
  • A commitment to safety, professionalism and student care.
