Data Integration Specialist – 4 Month Contract

4 months | Tasmania (or remote interstate with onboarding support)

About the Opportunity

We're working with an organisation that's right at the start of a major 5-year digital transformation journey. With brand new systems, projects ramping up, and a modern tech stack in place, they're looking for a Data Integration Specialist to join their Data & Architecture team.

This is a project-focused role where you'll be diving into complex datasets, solving problems, and building integrations that will support the organisation for years to come. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, figuring things out, and being part of a transformation from the ground up – this is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and refining reports behind the scences, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and business-ready.
  • Analysing datasets to identify anomalies and gaps where knowledge/documentation doesn't yet exist.
  • Supporting Ad-Hoc Data Integration work with Azure Service Bus.
  • Collaborating closely with the Data & Architecture team to deliver project outcomes.
  • Playing a key role in shaping data quality and governance during a large transformation.

Tech Environment

  • SQL
    – core skill, must be strong.
  • Python
    – solid experience in scripting and automation.
  • Azure Service Bus
    – enterprise integration experience.
  • Power BI
    – reporting and data visualisation.
  • Exposure to
    C#
    highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Purview or other data governance tools a plus.

What They're Looking For

  • 4–5 years' experience in data engineering / integration roles.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset – able to work where processes and documentation aren't fully established.
  • Experience in enterprise environments with integrations, reporting, and data quality.
  • Someone who enjoys making sense of messy data and building order from chaos.
