Public Sector People are partnering with an Australian government organisation to recruit for Traffic Engineer.

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term

Salary: $100k - $112k + Super, depending on experience and suitability for role

WFH Flexibility: Available after initial 3 month period

Responsibilities

  • Investigate traffic-related concerns raised by residents or stakeholders, conduct traffic studies (e.g., speed, volume, accident analysis), and design safety improvements such as signage, line marking, speed calming devices, and intersection upgrades.
  • Review and provide expert traffic engineering advice on Development Applications, including assessing traffic and parking impacts, access design, and recommending conditions of consent where necessary.
  • Investigate traffic requests by the community, conduct site inspections and traffic studies, and develop solutions to enhance road safety and network performance. This includes designing and implementing traffic calming measures, signage upgrades, and intersection improvements.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Traffic Engineering, and eligible to become a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a Traffic Engineering position for local government
  • Development Application experience
