Use your experience across all phases of policy and grants development and management to deliver better outcomes and improvements. Valmar Support Services Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated policy and grants officer to join a progressive and supportive organisation.
In this role, the policy and grants advisor is responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining organisational policies and procedures in line with current legislation, standards and best practice. The position also identifies, prepares and monitors grants aligned to Valmar's strategic direction and organisational priorities.
The role can be based in our Deakin office in Canberra, ACT or Valmar's head office in Tumut, NSW.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, evaluation and review of organisational policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current legislation, standards and best practice.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to align policy with organisational priorities, including engaging with internal and external stakeholders across the sector.
- Act as a knowledge hub, communicating policy updates internally and externally, and provide policy training and support to staff.
- Manage the Valmar Policy Committee meetings, agenda and action items.
- Conduct research and analysis on current and emerging issues and provides strategic advice to support policy development and anticipate future policy challenges and opportunities.
- Identify new grant opportunities and prepare grant submissions, expressions of interest, funding proposals and correspondence.
- Maintain a grants calendar and monitor application deadlines, deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Work independently or collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace and continuous improvement culture.
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in health policy, public health, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Appropriate and applicable experience in a similar field.
- Capabilities and strong knowledge of policy management and grants administration in a support services setting.
