About The Role
We're on the lookout for a crew of hands-on workers and truck drivers to join a high-performing regional infrastructure team based in
Albion Park & Mittagong, NSW
. These are dynamic roles suited to
experienced Labourers
,
Bridge & Road Workers
,
MR/HR Gang Truck Drivers.
The work involves bridge maintenance, infrastructure projects and road upgrades across rural NSW, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
You'll be involved in varied site work ranging from equipment operation and manual labour to site supervision, quality assurance, and traffic management. Living-away-from-home allowances and accommodations are provided when camping away from the depot, and you'll be travelling with a stable crew across project sites.
- $40-$50/hour + super (pay rate varies for different positions)
- 8.5 hours/day, 76 hours/fortnight, 9-day fortnight
- Leaving away from home and OT might be required (accommodation + allowances provided for camping away from home)
- Contract length: 1-3 months, potential for extension depending on the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate MR or HR class vehicles to transport crew, plant, materials, and equipment (MR/HR Truck Drivers / Plant Operators)
- Conduct traffic control and implement Traffic Management Plans where required (Road Workers / Traffic Control Ticket Holders)
- Install, replace, and maintain road signage, barriers and linemarking in line with work plans (Road Workers)
- Perform general labouring duties such as site preparation, material handling, and cleanup (Road Workers / Bridge Workers / Carpenters)
- Operate a range of heavy and light plant and machinery on worksites (Road Workers / Bridge Workers / Plant Operators)
- including: (Roller, Grader, Excavator, Skid Steer, Water Cart, Backhoe, Flocon, Bitumen Sprayer, Concrete Mixer, Drum Roller)
- Execute road and bridge construction and maintenance works, including bitumen laying, pothole patching, concreting, and structural repairs (Road Workers / Bridge Workers)
- Carry out bridge-specific maintenance including repairs to steel, timber, and concrete elements (Bridge Workers / Carpenters)
- Undertake formwork, falsework, and timber structures for bridge works and civil infrastructure (Carpenters)
- Travel with crews to regional and remote sites, ensuring safe transport and job delivery (All Field Roles)
- Supervise small work crews or contractors onsite as required (Leading Hand / Ganger Roles)
- Maintain daily safety and operational records including pre-starts, SWMS, and plant logs (All Roles / Project Quality Representatives)
- Manage stock and materials at depot locations, including issuing and receiving tools, PPE, and equipment (Storepersons)
- Provide rail protection and lookout services in ARTC corridors, ensuring strict adherence to rail safety protocols (Rail Protection Officers)
- Support the maintenance of traffic signalling systems and associated infrastructure (Traffic Signal Technicians)
- Apply HSEQ frameworks across all tasks, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and promoting safety (Project Quality Reps / HSE Advisors / Work Assistants)
- Follow WHS procedures and foster a strong culture of safety, accountability and care for mates on-site (All Roles)
About You
- Previous experience in infrastructure, bridgeworks, roadworks, motorway, civil construction or maintenance
- MR, HR or MR licence (desirable for driver/operator roles)
- Competency tickets for plant operation, traffic control, and Workers on Foot are advantageous
- Strong awareness of workplace safety and compliance
- Physically fit, reliable, and willing to work in changing outdoor conditions
- Able to work independently or in teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Some roles require camping away from the depot (LAHA and Accommodation provided)
- For technical and supervisor roles: experience in quality assurance, site supervision, or trade qualifications is highly regarded
- Full PPE required to ensure safety
- Must have full Australian working rights - Citizen, PR, or valid long-term visa holders only
- A satisfactory police check is required (can commence before clearance, subject to termination if adverse findings arise)
