- Implement and monitor accounting practice and budgets in accordance with TAFE SA policies and procedures and Department of Treasury and Finance requirements and obligations.
- Acting as a Financial Business Partner to Directors within TAFE SA, providing consistent, timely and relevant commercial advice and financial analysis which satisfy the goals of the Business Units.
- This role assists in the development of the relationship between finance functions and commercial operations of TAFE SA.
- Provide commercial advice and financial analysis. Participate in the overall budget process and coordinate budget processes within the Finance Business Partner's Business Unit and Work Groups.
- Interact with commercial and operational departments within the business to facilitate and interpret financial data and respectfully challenge the departments where necessary.
- Work with multiple stakeholders in Financial, other corporate functions and Business Units to identify efficiencies and solutions.
- Contribute to the delivery of financial projects, initiatives and investigations to achieve best practice in financial forecasting, modelling and reporting.
- Identify gaps in workgroup knowledge and skills and support the implementation of appropriate training to promote continuous improvement and best practice in Finance and Performance.

- Minimum 4 years' experience in complex organisations within the Corporate or Public sector, including management accounting experience.
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills that demonstrate a capacity to confidently develop, manage, influence and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, and concisely and accurately explain a range of sensitive and complex concepts and issues to achieve positive outcomes.
- High organisational capability and ability to work under broad direction, either independently or as a member of a team, and manage competing priorities to meet business needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, Executive financial management reporting, the compilation of financial management reports from systems and financial analysts or other sources of inputs, undertaking budget variance, comparative financial research and analysis, and applying sound analytical skills to identify financial management issues.
- Demonstrated ability working under broad direction and exercising significant judgement and delegated authority to resolve complex financial issues and prepare scenarios and models for the development of business cases and the assessment of projects.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing business systems and processes, developing and improving financial tools and performance reporting frameworks, undertaking change management processes and implementing successful performance management practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Culture and Community.
- Out of hours work may be required.
- Intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
