We are seeking 2 Case Workers for our Aboriginal Safe at Home and Moorditj Bidee programs.

Aboriginal Safe at Home Case Worker

Provide case management and support to women and children affected by domestic violence to remain safely in their own home or to access safe and secure accommodation where the situation becomes unsafe.

Moorditj Bidee Case Worker

Provide FDV Outreach through in-home support for individuals and families transitioning from refuge to transitional or private housing, or other accommodation options. The case worker will be the designated driver of support to participants within the accommodation program, this will include:

  • Screening, assessment, and intake processes.
  • Supporting safety in home and in the community.
  • Case management and support planning.
  • Support with rental readiness and sustainment.
  • Supported transition from the accommodation.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (address this in your cover letter)

  • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children, with knowledge of cultural protocols and boundaries.
  • Qualification in social work, community work, counselling, community services or a related field, or significant relevant experience and demonstrated competency.
  • Experience supporting women and children in crisis, including case planning and crisis intervention.
  • Strong understanding of family and domestic violence (FDV), its impact on women and children, and current sector trends and professional responses.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and court processes affecting FDV-affected families.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with individuals, families, and teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry, and report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.
  • Demonstrable commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • WA Working with Children Card
  • National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Department of Communities Screening (we'll help successful candidates apply)
  • WA Drivers License
