About the role:

Step into a 12month fixed-term Senior Business Analyst role joining our Change and Transformation branch where your expertise shapes real change. You'll support Unitywater's multi-year Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) Transformation Program, modernising systems, redesigning processes, and strengthening how we deliver infrastructure across our region.

Unitywater's SIS Transformation Digital Program is reshaping how we work integrating people, process and technology to deliver smarter, more connected infrastructure solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll bring clarity to complexity, translate business needs into actionable requirements, map future-focused processes, and help ensure seamless delivery and adoption of new digital capabilities. You'll be the bridge between business and technical teams, enabling confident decisions and successful transformation outcomes across the program.

Position Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the capture, analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements.
  • Map and assess current vs future-state processes, identifying risks, impacts and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare high-quality requirements, process maps and specifications that support confident decision-making.
  • Support and contribute to solution design workshops and configuration discussions.
  • Develop test scenarios and coordinate UAT planning, readiness and execution.
  • Ensure all requirements remain traceable, testable and aligned to business outcomes throughout delivery.
  • Partner with change and training teams to translate process changes into clear knowledge content and end-user support materials.
  • Contribute to change impact assessments and support targeted training activities.
  • Champion Unitywater's safety culture and positive working environment.
  • Manage smaller projects or workstreams with lower complexity or delivery risk.

Must-Haves

  • Experience as a Business Analyst in complex, enterprise or transformation programs.
  • Strong capability in eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Advanced BPMN process modelling skills and structured documentation capability.
  • Ability to translate ambiguity into clear problem statements and usable requirements.
  • Sharp analytical, critical-thinking, and questioning mindset.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative and solution-focused approach.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, technology or a related discipline.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to large-scale digital uplift programs or system-integration environments.
  • Experience supporting user-centred design, change impact analysis or training development.
  • Familiarity with enterprise asset management or infrastructure-related systems.
