Description:
As an Airport Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and oversight of airport activities conducted by Star Aviation, below and above wing teams, while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role is pivotal in shaping a positive team culture that reflects Star Aviation's values.
The Airport Manager sets the tone for operational performance, team engagement, and customer experience, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard while achieving key safety, operational, and financial objectives.
Your work will include:
Service Delivery
•
Participate in, manage, and oversee Star Aviation's day-to-day ground handling across customer services, bag room, ramp cabin cleaning operations
•
Lead and manage operational staff to ensure appropriate oversight of daily operations through provision of general and direct guidance to the team
•
Effective planning and management of staff resources to ensure schedule delivery, cost and service levels are met
•
Investigate delays and service failures and work with the relevant internal and external teams to resolve
•
Ensure all ground handling services are performed to the highest standard and in accordance with the Contract summary, with any additional service items raised to the Regional Airport Manager to invoice separately
•
Assist with the calculation of budgets and cost models
•
Develop and maintain relationships with key airport personnel, liaising with airport operators to ensure airport facilities meet Star Aviation's requirements
Management of equipment and vehicles
•
Responsible for the provision of equipment and vehicles that are used for operational purposes at the airport
•
Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment
•
Review and follow up on reports of any equipment malfunction
People Management
•
Lead and manage the team operationally to ensure compliance with the contractual obligations, safety obligations and cost efficiency
•
Promote and drive a safety culture across the team
•
Manage performance issues across all levels, ensure staff are competent in their roles
Training
•
In collaboration with Senior Manager Operational Excellence and Training, identify any training requirements to improve service delivery
•
Schedule appropriate training sessions for training delivery and verification
•
Prepare for, conduct, and document both training delivery and assessments, using approved airline training program to address company's training needs
We're looking for someone who is highly competent and has previous experience in operational requirements of ground handling across above and below wing operations and can develop and implement business improvements and change management strategies. To succeed, you'll need to be a strong people leader, able to manage, motivate and lead teams, excellent time management skills, work in a fast-paced environment and be customer focused in your service.
Mandatory Requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.
