About the role

Join the talented team at Austin Metal Maintenance as a Boilermaker in Mackay, QLD and surrounds. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of Earthmoving, Farming, Transport equipment and other metal fabrication work. As a skilled Boilermaker, you will be an integral part of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our client's equipment.

What you'll be doing

  • Fabricate, maintain and repair all aspects of our clients equipment and plant.

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to complete projects accurately and to a high standard

  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and other metalworking tasks using a variety of tools and equipment

  • Collaborate with the wider team to identify and resolve issues, implement solutions and deliver projects on time

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality control procedures to ensure a safe working environment and quality of the task

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualifications as a Boilermaker, with a trade certificate or relevant apprenticeship

  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker or in a similar metal fabrication role.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

  • Skilled in performing a range of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and stick welding

  • Demonstrable attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to working in a team

  • A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to our Mackay site
