About the role

We're a fast-growing electricity retailer based in Melbourne, and we're looking for an experienced Retail Pricing Manager to take ownership of our pricing strategy and lead the continued evolution of our retail pricing capabilities.

As a Retail Energy Pricing Manager at our organisation, you will play a key role in driving the company's strategic pricing initiatives and market positioning. In this full-time position based in Melbourne, you will be responsible for analysing market trends, competitor activities, and customer data to develop and implement effective pricing strategies that optimise profitability and maintain a competitive edge.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage, Guide, and Teach a small and dynamic Pricing Team
  2. Lead the development, management, and optimisation of retail electricity pricing strategies.
  3. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify pricing opportunities and monitor industry developments
  4. Develop and maintain pricing models to forecast demand, costs, and profitability
  5. Collaborate closely with finance, sales, operations, and marketing teams to deliver pricing outcomes that support business objectives.
  6. Analyse customer data and market intelligence to identify pricing trends and inform pricing decisions
  7. Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on pricing initiatives and their impact
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience in a pricing, commercial, or analytical role - ideally within the energy or utilities sector.
  2. Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
  3. Proficiency in data analysis, modelling, and forecasting using tools like Excel, SQL, and Tableau
  4. Strong understanding of the energy market, pricing strategies, and customer behaviour
  5. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  6. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proven track record of delivering successful pricing initiatives and driving business impact
