Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Finance (2 positions available) to join School of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in Finance, Financial Data Analytics/Econometrics. The successful applicant will be expected to teach in our Finance undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and conduct high-quality, innovative research, with opportunities for external funding where appropriate. Interests should align broadly with one or more of the following areas:

• Finance (Empirically focused)
• Financial Data Analytics
• Financial Econometrics

The School of Economics and Finance is one of the six Schools in the Faculty of Business and Law and is comprised of approximately 32 academic staff within the fields of Economics, Econometrics, Finance, and Property Economics. Our academics conduct research in several fields with a strong focus on publication quality and impact. The School has an active research environment that provides opportunities for both academics and higher degree students to interact regularly. We deliver teaching programs in the Economics and the Finance undergraduate majors within the Business degree, the Property Economics undergraduate degree, and the postgraduate major in Financial Analytics and Technology. We also teach within the MBA program and collaborate with other Schools and Faculties in delivering units of our expertise where they are needed.

What you need to succeed

1. A PhD in Finance, Financial Data Analytics/Econometrics (or related) at the time of taking up the position.
2. Demonstrated track record of securing research funding and publishing in high-quality journals.
3. Demonstrated ability in teaching, including unit and curriculum design and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
4. Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team of academic colleagues.
5. Demonstrated engagement with industry stakeholders to enhance teaching and/or research performance.
