About the Role

This is a hands-on consulting opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant, Systems Accountant, or ERP Specialist. You'll work closely with the ERP Project Manager, Executive Manager Corporate Services, Finance, and IT teams to ensure the new system is fit-for-purpose, meets statutory and internal reporting requirements, and is effectively adopted by the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation roadmap for new ERP modules including Core Financials, Rates & Property, Assets, and Licensing & Compliance.
  • Conduct finance process mapping and gap analysis, recommending best practice improvements.
  • Support the Chart of Accounts (CoA) design and validation.
  • Develop and test financial and statutory reports in line with ERP capabilities.
  • Oversee data migration validation, ensuring accuracy and integrity of migrated financial data.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to change management, training, and finance process documentation to drive successful adoption.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience in finance, ideally within local government or the public sector.
  • Strong background in ERP implementations as a Project Accountant, Systems Accountant, or ERP Functional Consultant.
  • Familiarity with ReadyTech, SynergySoft, or related local government finance systems.
  • Expertise in financial process design, reporting, and data migration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.

Deliverables

  • Documented finance process maps and gap analysis
  • Validated Chart of Accounts and report templates
  • Data migration validation and reconciliation documentation
  • UAT scripts, reports, training materials, and SOPs
  • Regular progress updates to the ERP Project Manager

Engagement Details

  • Contract: 12–18 months
  • Hours: Approx. 30 hours per week
  • Work Model: Hybrid (onsite in Northam + remote flexibility)
