About the role

Terry Whyte Facility Management Pty Ltd trading as Terry Whyte Support Services is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team in our Greenway, ACT facility. This is a casual role where you will provide high-quality support and assistance to older adults and individuals with disabilities, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
  2. Provide social support and companionship to clients, engaging them in activities and outings
  3. Help clients access community services and resources
  4. Advocate for client needs and communicate with family members and other care providers
  5. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation

What we're looking for

  1. Previous experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role within the aged care or disability support industry
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  3. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting older adults and individuals with disabilities
  4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  5. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
  6. Current First Aid certification
  7. A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred
