About Us
Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects. We are currently delivering the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package and in joint venture partnerships for both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and the $1B M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package.
We are also shortlisted for several major transport and energy infrastructure projects and are pursuing other significant opportunities in these sectors across Australia.
As our team continues to grow, we are focused on attracting talented professionals who share our commitment to excellence and innovation. We are proud to be building a culture that aspires to be an employer of choice in the Australian infrastructure sector.
About the role
The Sustainability Advisor supports the delivery of Gamuda's Seeds for Growth strategy by embedding sustainability across all project phases — from early planning and procurement through to construction. Working closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams, the role provides technical input on sustainability documentation, compliance, certification, and innovation.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to grow their sustainability career, particularly those with infrastructure experience seeking to apply their skills to ESG outcomes. The Advisor contributes to EOIs and RFPs, supports project implementation and reporting, and helps drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance across Gamuda's projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the preparation of sustainability-related returnable schedules and deliverables for EOIs, RFPs, and ECIs.
• Assist in coordinating third-party certification processes (e.g. TfNSW SDG, ISC, Green Star), including evidence collection and audit preparation.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to support sustainability-related requirements and initiatives.
• Contribute to internal capability-building through training, toolkits, and the promotion of best practice.
• Support corporate sustainability reporting, data management, and lessons learned processes.
• Assist with establishing early-phase sustainability strategies and documentation during project mobilisation.
• Monitor changes in sustainability regulations, frameworks, and industry trends to support continuous improvement.
Your skills and experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (e.g. Environmental Management, Sustainability).
• GSAP or ISAP accreditation (or equivalent) with experience in delivering a sustainability rating.
• Familiarity with third-party certification systems such as ISC, Green Star, LEED, or BREEAM.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in sustainability roles on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of sustainability strategy and compliance in a construction environment.
• Proven communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring capabilities.
Gamuda Australia encourages and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce, including those from overseas and current Visa holders. Gamuda appreciates your application, and we will endeavour to respond as soon as practicable.
Unsolicited agency CVs submitted to Gamuda will not be accepted.
