The Position
Loreto Kirribilli is seeking to appoint a visionary and innovative leader for the position of Head of Senior School. This is a pivotal executive role, responsible for shaping the educational journey and wellbeing of students and staff in Years 7–12. As a key member of the School Executive, the Head of Senior School provides strategic, operational, and inspirational leadership, championing the School's unwavering commitment to excellence in girls' education. This role is central to ensuring that Loreto Kirribilli's values—Verity, Justice, Sincerity, Felicity, and Freedom of mind and spirit—are lived daily.
The Head of Senior School at Loreto Kirribilli plays a vital role in leading a holistic approach to learning and wellbeing, directly supporting the Principal in delivering the School's strategic vision. This position balances compassionate care with high expectations to nurture confident, resilient, and capable young women prepared for the challenges of a rapidly changing world. A strong background in student wellbeing is essential. The role also encompasses academic care, requiring candidates to be accomplished educators with a proven record of academic success. Data literacy is critical; the Head must interpret trends and lead others in using data to inform practice and improve outcomes. In partnership with the Head of Junior School, the role is instrumental in ensuring a seamless, future-focused K–12 educational experience, supporting students as they transition through key stages of their schooling.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring educator and leader, committed to the holistic development of young women and to upholding the rich traditions and values of Loreto Kirribilli.
The Organisation
Loreto Kirribilli is an independent Catholic school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 with an enrolment of over 1,100 students. Established on the peninsula in 1908, the School is proud to be part of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM), an international network of faith, friendship and education, imbued with the Mary Ward tradition of women 'doing much' in the service of others.
