Operations Manager

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Wilshaw' as an Operations Manager in our Kalgoorlie, WA location. In this full-time role, this position is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from award of contract through to completion and supply, whilst ensuring the end-to-end maintenance execution plan is carried out to the highest of safety & quality standards, on budget and maximising client satisfaction to capitalise on future growth opportunities.

Australian citizenship is required for this position.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
• Conduct site visits to assess client requirements if required.
• Attend client information sessions, tender briefings and/or project meetings.
• Monitor progress against key milestones, budgets, and schedules, intervening where necessary.
• Prepare subcontractor bid packages.
• Liaise with client, contractors and internal resources and develop and submit project estimates and submit bids to clients by required deadlines.
• Lead initial project planning session with internal engineering and drafting teams and contractors.
• Schedule meetings and liaise with contractors to monitor progress of works to ensure on time delivery of project.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans and/or mitigate delays.
• Foster a collaborative and cooperative working environment to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and company goals are met.
• Ensure adherence to client safety policies and procedures.

Business Development

• Oversee market research and capitalise on industry knowledge & existing relationships to create tendering opportunities.
• Oversee estimating and proposals to deliver compelling tender submissions.
• Lead & oversee contract negotiation, and commercial agreements.
• Participate in all pre-contracts activities to secure work for handover to project execution teams.

What we're looking for

• At least 10 years' experience in an operational role in the mining industry.
• Formal degree qualification in Mining Engineering, Engineering, or relevant trade.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in data analysis and performance reporting
• Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Current drivers license
• National Police clearance within 6 months
• First aid ticket desirable
• Safely working at heights ticket
