As the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Curriculum Development specialist, you'll lead the review, development, and implementation of vital health and cultural safety curricula across Melbourne School of Health Science and Melbourne School of Population and Global Health within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. You'll have the opportunity to influence student experiences, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to research that advances Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health education. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on healthcare education and cultural competency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and Implement Curricula: Lead the creation and implementation of high-quality Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health curricula across Melbourne School of Health Science and Melbourne School of Population and Global Health.
- Promote Cultural Competency: Spearhead the development and delivery of cultural competency training for staff and students, enhancing understanding and sensitivity.
- Conduct Research and Supervise Students: Undertake research in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, publish findings, and supervise graduate students to advance the field.
- Collaborate and Lead: Work closely with health educators, professionals, and community partners to build capacity in culturally sensitive learning pedagogies and contribute to strategic goals.

You are a dedicated professional with a doctoral qualification in a relevant field, experienced in tertiary curriculum development incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and committed to delivering positive social impact to Indigenous communities.
You must also:
- Possess a doctoral qualification (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant field or extensive relevant experience.
- Have experience in tertiary level curriculum development incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, perspectives and cultural competencies.
- Demonstrate strong experience working with and delivering positive social impact to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Show excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work flexibly within a team.
- Possess high levels of self-motivation and initiative.
- Have post-graduate qualifications in Tertiary Education/University Learning and Teaching or Curriculum design (desirable).
