About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Cook to join our team at New Domain Developments Pty Ltd in Ringwood, VIC. This part-time position will see you leading the kitchen and playing a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
  • Work with a team of talented cooks, ensuring consistent food quality and efficient workflow
  • Develop and refine recipes, experiment with new ingredients and techniques to enhance our menu offerings
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards and corodinate annual and random food safety audits
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the kitchen
  • Liaise with care staff staff to ensure seamless service

What we're looking for

  • Formal culinary training or certification, such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or relevent experience cooking in an Aged Care or Supportive Residential Service environment
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management
  • Strong mentoring skills, with the ability to work with and motivate a team
  • Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality, innovative dishes
  • Adaptable and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
