As the Senior Finance Officer in the Lands division, your day will include connecting with business unit managers to discuss upcoming budget priorities, providing advice on expenditure queries, and ensuring financial processes align with the Financial Management Practice Manual, Australian Accounting Standards and departmental policies. You will review financial reports and reconciliations, prepare variance analyses, and maintain accurate forecast data to support decision-making. You'll also prepare briefing notes for senior leaders, develop detailed budget submissions, and coordinate the divisional financial statement package.

In overseeing the budget build process for operating, capital and limited life funding, you'll ensure allocations are accurate and reflect strategic priorities. Your expertise in SAP S4/HANA and Excel will be invaluable in preparing both routine and ad hoc reports, as well as responding to complex queries from stakeholders. You'll guide Finance Officers on complex transactions, ensuring compliance and accuracy and act as the escalation point for challenging issues. The role also includes running stocktake processes, maintaining asset portfolio integrity, and contributing to control self-assessments.

Building strong relationships across the division, you'll identify opportunities for training or process improvements to enhance understanding of financial systems and reporting requirements.
