We are seeking a System Administrator who has domain expertise with WordPress Web Server hosting to join our team for an initial 6 month contract.

This position will require you to be responsible for managing and optimizing our client's WordPress hosting environments, ensuring high performance, uptime, and security. You will work closely with developers and designers to support deployment workflows and troubleshoot Linux related server side issues.

Expected Duties

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize WordPress hosting environments (Apache/Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP)
  • Manage server resources and performance tuning (caching, CDN, load balancing)
  • Implement and monitor security protocols (SSL, firewalls, malware scanning)
  • Automate backups, updates, and deployment processes
  • Troubleshoot server and site issues, including downtime and performance bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with development teams on staging and production environments
  • Maintain documentation for server configurations and procedures

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience as an administrator for Wordpress driven environments
  • Deep level of understanding across Wordpress ecosystem
  • Experience managing WordPress installations and Linux based web servers (RHEL and CentOS)
  • Strong knowledge of LAMP/LEMP stacks, cPanel/WHM, and WordPress CLI
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (AWS Cloud Services such as RDS, Route53, CloudFront, Application Load Balancers and target groups)
  • Understanding of DNS, SSL, and domain management
  • Ability to write shell scripts and automate tasks
  • Experience with containerization (Docker)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC
  • PHP/MySQL debugging skills
