Aussie Food Truck Catering Pty Ltd is a vibrant, Sydney-based mobile food business serving up delicious meals at events, markets, and private functions across NSW. We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join our team, bringing culinary flair to our on-the-go kitchen.

The Role

We're seeking a reliable and talented Food Truck Cook to prepare and cook high-quality food in our mobile kitchen. This is a casual position with up to 24 hours per week, requiring full availability on weekends and flexibility to travel to various locations, including regional areas like Dubbo and Orange. You'll work under the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2020, supporting our travelling food truck operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of menu items (e.g., burgers, fries, specials) to a high standard in a fast-paced food truck environment.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, including cleaning and sanitizing the mobile kitchen.
  • Assist with stock management, including prepping ingredients and monitoring supplies.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service during busy events and markets.
  • Adapt to different locations and setups as the food truck travels to festivals, shows, and private gigs.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Cook, ideally in a fast-paced or mobile food setting (food truck experience a plus).
  • Cookery or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., NSW Food Authority standards).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a compact kitchen space.
  • Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.

Requirements

  • Availability:
     Must be available every weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and flexible for weekday shifts as needed, up to 24 hours per week.
  • Travel:
     Willing and able to travel across NSW (e.g., Sydney metro, Dubbo, Orange, Albury, Lismore) with the food truck—own transport an advantage but not essential.
  • Valid working rights in Australia (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible visa holder).
