As our Senior Analyst Operational Risk, you will work with senior leaders in business, technology, and risk areas to manage BAU risks as well as major projects/change. In doing so, you will support the ongoing maturity of our risk framework as our business evolves.

This position is open to candidates in Brisbane and Sydney, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge to the Bank's operational risk management activities.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of the risk management framework, including through the review of controls assessments, issues and incidents.
  • Conduct independent risk assessments, controls testing, and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts on the business.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators, issues, incidents, metrics, and emerging risks.
  • Work across the Bank to promote a risk aware culture.
  • Act as a point of contact for operational risk related enquiries and issues, from the second line of defence perspective.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging risks.
Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • At least three years Financial Services Operational Risk management.
  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant Financial Services sector standards, including legislation, regulation, prudential standards, codes etc, including, but not limited to combinations of the following, APRA prudential standards, Corporations Act and Customer-Owned Banking Code of Practice.
