HR/HC Driver – Distance ( Riverina Region NSW)

Full-time | Long Distance | Competitive Pay

About the Role

Starpac Pty Ltd is expanding and we're looking for a HR/HC Distance Driver to join our Wagga Wagga team. You'll handle multi-drop deliveries across southern Australia (most trips 3–5 days, with occasional 10-day runs to WA).

Your vehicle is equipped with a 2.5t offroad forklift to help make the deliveries go smoothly.

We will help with upgrading your licence to HC if needed for the right applicant

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate vehicle including some planning for scheduling deliveries and taking breaks/rest stops
  • Use an Electronic Work Diary (EWD) for fatigue management
  • Operate a forklift for loading/unloading freight
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections, along with checks while driving (load integrity, tyres, straps and buckles)
  • Call clients prior to deliveries to confirm arrangements
  • Deliver goods safely, in reasonable time, and in good condition
  • Complete all POD items for electronic lodgement(Photos, times, names & signature)

What We're Looking For

  • Current HR or HC licence + 2 years' experience in a transport ( or allied) role
  • A happy & helpful character
  • A problem solver who loves playing Tetris; our loads come in all shapes and sizes
  • Confident in manoeuvring a truck and trailer in tight spaces including reversing using mirrors. Also know when it's more practicable to find a spot when the truck won't fit.
  • Forklift licence and proven competency
  • Knowledge of road transport laws & safety practices
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and customer service minded
  • Either a Standard Police check or Working with Children check is acceptable for this position (visiting school grounds is part of the work schedule)
  • 5 Year driving record (for insurance purposes)
