About the role

Southern Steel Supplies is seeking an experienced HR Truck Driver to join our team. This is a full-time role where you'll play a vital part in the transportation and delivery of steel to our customers. When not driving, you will assist in the warehouse with tasks such as loading, unloading, and general material handling.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operating and maintaining trucks to transport steel products
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
  • Adhering to all road rules, regulations, and company safety policies
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and management to provide updates on deliveries
  • Completing all required paperwork and delivery documentation accurately
  • Assisting in the warehouse when not driving, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials
  • Delivering excellent customer service and representing Southern Steel Supplies in a professional manner

What we're looking for

  • A current HR truck licence
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating HR trucks
  • Strong knowledge of road rules and safe driving practices
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety
