We are currently seeking a Test Automation Engineer (Python/Java) to join our team in Sydney to deliver our leading surveillance product. The role is suitable for candidates who are not afraid to work with ambiguity, are resilient and able to adjust quickly through multiple solutions to meet demanding and changing requirements.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will have opportunity to be in a strong experienced team delivering complex technology solutions to internal clients. You will function with and learn from domain experts, and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and progress within the team. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Sydney, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.

  • Support, develop, test, debug, and implement various existing and new automation systems, frameworks, software tools and utilities.

  • Modify existing internal software systems, products, frameworks, tools to add new functions, improve performance or enhance product usability.

  • Contribute to robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for functional, regression and performance testing

  • Identify required improvements in the test and development processes; contribute to our automation tools that address specific needs.

  • Maintain a high-quality bar in a complex and constantly evolving workspace.

  • Provides deep domain and industry experience and expertise to design and develop creative solutions.

  • Provide technology trends and competitive landscape expertise and make technology decisions to drive opportunities and competitive advantage for our users.

What We Expect

  • 3-5 years of overall experience as a development or automation engineer.

  • 3+ years' experience on Python and / or Java programming language.

  • Expertise in working on linux/unix servers, in virtualized environment and shell scripting

  • Experience in Building, deploying, and maintaining automated tests

  • Experience in using Docker containers

  • Experience in using CI/CD pipeline solutions such as Jenkins

  • Understanding of Postgres, mongo database, database concepts

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools - GIT

  • Good communication skills in both written and oral, combined with a self-motivated attitude

  • Capability to multitask multiple projects / support

  • Bachelor/Master in computer science

What Would Be Helpful

  • Knowledge on financial markets or Trading.

  • Knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages

  • Knowledge of Puppet, JIRA, Bitbucket, Kubernetes
