Data Management/Analyst - Senior (multiple)

Location: Canberra

Contract: Multi-Year, Commencing December 2025

Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required)

Cynosure Consulting Group is seeking Senior Data Analysts with 5+ years' experience in designing data solutions, developing dashboards and resolving data issues.

The Directorate of Estate Information System Governance (DEISG) Information Management develops and promotes Security and Estate Group (SEG) wide information management and governance in alignment with Defence Data Strategy 2.0.

Estate Data Management (EDM) is the Defence team handling quality control, modelling, extraction, uploading, and analysis of Estate Master Data. The team provides guidance, training and support for users of the Estate Data Governance Application (EDGA). The governance toolkit includes the Estate Data Dictionary (EDD), Estate Register Information Model (ERIM) and Spatial Data Management Plan (SDMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Applying robust techniques in the transformation of data from one format/medium to another.
  • Maintain and implement information handling procedures.
  • Design and implement automated data solutions aimed providing crucial insights for decision-making and streamlining business process.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, infographic presentations, reports, and visualisations that accurately represent business data and facilitate informed decision- making (e.g data health dashboards).
  • Manage data taxonomy and resolve data issues by developing and maintaining structured systems and classifications.
  • Enhance data storage solutions, retrieval processes, analysis capabilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how data is handled in the organisation.
  • Assist in the implementation of data governance processes, frameworks, policies and standards.
  • System testing, identification of test cases and recording results.

About You

  • Practical data experience gained from working with multiple organisation.
  • Experience in working with senior stakeholders within the Estate Group and other business domains across the enterprise.
  • Deep practical information / data management experience.
  • Ability to proactively engage and represent the Estate Group to the enterprise Data Management team.
  • Experience working for a major consulting firm in the data domain (desirable, not mandatory).
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
  • Canberra-based, with the ability to obtain (or already holding) an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Mandatory Requirement

Due to the nature of the work, only Australian citizens eligible for a security clearance will be considered. Security clearance sponsorship is available for successful candidates.
