THE ROLE:

Honey Suckle Regional Health - Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre, are seeking applications from Personal Care Workers (PCW) with a passion and interest working in aged care to join our dedicated and passionate team, delivering consumer focused care.

We are currently seeking Personal Care Workers in either a Full-time, Part-time or Casual basis to join our team.

As a Personal Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting residents to live with dignity, comfort, and respect. You will provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal care and individualised support, while fostering a safe, compassionate, and inclusive environment. Our care team is committed to ensuring residents feel valued, emotionally supported, and physically cared for in line with the highest standards of aged care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility, in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Support residents to maintain independence while tailoring care to their individual preferences, cultural background, beliefs, and life experiences.
  • Monitor, observe and report any changes in physical, mental or emotional wellbeing (e.g. skin integrity, mood, mobility, cognition) to registered nurses or relevant health professionals in a timely manner.
  • Ensure safe and effective personal care practices, including infection prevention and control, adherence to individualized care plans, and the use of appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential documentation, including daily care notes, incident reports, resident preferences and communication.
  • Uphold residents' rights to dignity, choice, privacy and identity in all aspects of care.
  • Work within, scope of practice, following organisational policies, procedures Code of Conduct, safety guidelines, and relevant legislation.

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in residential aged care,
  • Well demonstrated experience working effectively in a team.
  • The ability to follow policies, processes and instructions.

Desirable

  • Additional to Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent, Medication Endorsement highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in dementia care, or palliative care, with a demonstrated understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to engage in additional training related to, the Aged Care Quality Standards and the Code of Conduct for Aged Care Workers.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in continuous quality
