Fronditha Care is a not-for-profit organisation providing unique, culturally and linguistically diverse services, offering residential and support services to elderly people of Greek speaking background in Victoria and multilingual backgrounds in New South Wales.

Fronditha Care aims to ensure the elderly are able to live in a residential facility or remain at home and be supported by those who share their language, history, religious values, attitudes, rituals, celebrations, music and food. Presently, we have a need for Greek speaking Personal Care Workers to support our elderly in our residential facilities and/or at home.

The main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

• Assist in ensuring provision of nutritional, culturally relevant and well-presented food to the elderly residents
• Prepare foods of all types (Keeping in Mind focus on Greek cuisine requirements and preferences of the residents)
• Lead the facilities Kitchen and Food services team
• Provide high quality hospitality catering services to the care recipients of the facility
• Ensure all food preparation is undertaken in accordance with the Food Safety Plan (FSP) and relevant regulatory requirements as well as occupation health and safety requirements

Chefs/Cooks within our residential care services division will additionally assume the below duties:

• Review with Hospitality Services Manager and dietician to establish Organisational Wide winter and summer menus and prepare and cook foods of all types, keeping in mind the cultural requirements and preferences of the residents as well as taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of produce & ingredients.
• Oversee all documentation and monitoring records are completed accurately,signed and filed daily.
• Coordinate planning and purchasing for all the food and operational requirements.
• Determine production schedules FST requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
• Calculate amounts and costs of food supplies. Update the monthly food spreadsheet and maintain annual food budget.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.

Requirements:

• Qualifications in Hospitality (preferable an Advanced Diploma) or a recognised equivalent, or working towards some aligned and relevant qualification; and demonstrated prior experience working as a cook in a commercial kitchen, ideally with a background in Greek cuisine.

• National Police Check
