About The Role
- Our Hydrogen Peroxide manufacturing facility, composed of around 40 people, focuses on producing hydrogen (H2) and hydrogen peroxide (HP) in collaboration with the Maintenance, Purchasing, Logistics and Commercial teams.
- As a Safety (HSE) Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and compliant operations of the site in the areas of safety, health and environment as well as providing support to the Production Manager and Site Manager. You will get the opportunity to contribute to maintaining and improving the standards of a complex Major Hazard Facility (MHF) site.
You will be accountable for:
The safe management of the site's hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide plant, alongside the Production Manager.
- Maintaining and improving the safety systems.
- Maintaining ISO accreditation (ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001).
- Promoting and undertaking site audits on the Solvay Lifesaving rules.
- Liaising with local authorities, including Safe Work NSW, EPA, NGERS, AICIS.
Continuous improvement and working to best practice.
We offer a permanent contract based on an on-site working mode.
About You
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety or similar qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an operational safety role at a chemical or industrial site.
- Exposure to laboratory operations and people management is favourable.
Competencies:
Relevant work experience in the chemical or comparable industry.
Safety leadership in a Major Hazard Facility (MHF).
Behaviors:
Strong safety focus.

- Effective communication and leadership skills.
About The Pay And Benefits
- Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Australian base pay reasonably expected for this role is $100,000 to $135,000 AUD, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
