Position Overview
The People & Culture Business Partner will play a pivotal role within the Tender Loving Care Disability Services team providing expert human resources support and strategic guidance to leaders across the organisation. This position is crucial for driving people management strategies that foster employee engagement, retention and skill development ultimately ensuring a high-performing, inclusive and respectful workplace culture. The People & Culture Business Partner will work closely with managers to implement and monitor strategies that align with Tender Loving Care's values and goals particularly in the disability services sector.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Leaders
- Collaborate closely with department heads and managers to provide expert advice on all aspects of people management including employee relations, performance management, talent development and succession planning.
Employee Engagement
- Design and implement initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture ensuring high levels of employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.
Retention Strategies
- Develop and execute strategies tailored to improve employee retention particularly for award employees in the community care sector.
Skill Development
- Identify skill gaps across teams and partner with managers to create targeted training and development programs that support career progression and enhance workforce capabilities.
Policy Implementation
- Oversee the effective communication and implementation of HR policies and practices ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the organisation.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Stay current with relevant employment laws, regulations and industry best practices ensuring TLC Disability Services remains compliant and competitive in its HR practices.
HR Projects
- Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support the organisation's broader strategic objectives.
Mentorship and Development
- Mentor junior HR team members preparing them for future leadership roles and responsibilities within the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:
- A degree in Human Resources, Psychology or a related field is highly advantageous.
HR certifications or qualifications in disability services or community care are also beneficial.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources preferably within the Aged Care and Disability Sector or a similar setting involving award employees.
Strong knowledge of human resources best practices, employment law and the specific nuances involved in managing award employees within the community care or disability services sector.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Strong analytical abilities to interpret HR data, identify trends and inform decision-making processes.
Proven ability to address complex HR issues proactively with a solution-focused mindset.
