We are looking for a highly skilled Operational Technology (OT) Architect & Product Owner to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of the manufacturing technology stack. Working closely with the MES Solution Architect, this role bridges the gap between business objectives and technology solutions, supporting digital transformation on the plant floor by providing strategic architectural oversight, championing best practices, and ensuring scalable, secure, high-performance systems.

You will be the voice of the business in Smart Factory development, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals while driving innovation in manufacturing processes. Work with the broader business to foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and ownership, and lead change initiatives and ensure user adoption of new OT capabilities.

Why choose Weir:
Be part of a global organization dedicated to building a better future: At Weir, the growing world depends on us. It depends on us constantly reinventing, quickly adapting and continually finding better, faster, more sustainable ways to access the resources it needs to thrive. Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

  • Define and maintain the overarching architecture for OT systems, ensuring alignment with Weir's Target Enterprise Architecture (TEA), MES Platform requirements and manufacturing strategies.

  • Working with the Manufacturing Product Domain Lead (PDL), serve as the OT Product Owner in agile delivery teams—primarily establishing a connected manufacturing environment in line with the Smart Factory North Star and owning the product backlog, defining user stories, prioritising features, and ensuring continuous value delivery.

  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, manufacturing teams, IT, and vendors to capture requirements, manage expectations, and deliver high-impact solutions.

  • Lead the end-to-end integration of OT systems with cloud infrastructure and parallel platforms (MES / ERP), ensuring seamless data flow, system interoperability, and cybersecurity.

  • Monitor system performance and availability across OT platforms, proactively identifying areas for optimisation and incident prevention.

  • Develop and execute MES technology roadmaps, focusing on scalability, cybersecurity, integration, and regulatory compliance.

  • Define and enforce architectural and development standards across OT environments.

  • Act as the solution architect for OT initiatives —translating business requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in the area of engineering, computer science, information technology or a relevant field is preferred, or appropriate experience as highlighted below.

  • 5+ years of experience in Operational Technology solution implementation and support within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of SAP and strong knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understanding of manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations.

  • Working knowledge of embedded logic development, SCADA systems, network systems in addition to knowledge of Azure / AWS cloud architecture highly desirable.
