Future Banking Technology Architect

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be leading the design and delivery of our electronic Interest Rate Swap (eIRS) trading platform. This is a pivotal role that requires a high degree of technical expertise in distributed systems architecture, low-latency systems, and eTrading systems performance tuning.
This involves architecting and implementing scalable systems that support real-time pricing, negotiation, and trade execution across dealer-to-dealer and dealer-to-client markets. You will work closely with trading desks, quant teams, and product owners to deliver innovative solutions that enhance market competitiveness and operational resilience.
A key aspect of this role is shaping the future of our digital platform through the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge technology solutions. Our technology teams provide essential tools for our internal and external customers, including Microsoft Teams and Gen AI tooling.
We are seeking an experienced software engineer who can champion thought leadership for process architecture and develop options for improving and updating current capability. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems architecture.
Additionally, experience with IRS market platforms such as Tradeweb and MarkitWire, strong understanding of IRS instruments, pricing conventions, and swap templates, familiarity with AWS services, Kafka/EventHub, DevSecOps/CI/CD technologies, and modern SRE technology are highly desirable.
