Maintenance/Grounds Person

About the Role

This is a hands-on, general labour-focused position with a strong emphasis on groundskeeping and facility maintenance. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our residents through a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• General groundskeeping: mowing, hedging, spraying, and garden maintenance
• Emptying rubbish and managing laundry bags
• Basic maintenance tasks: painting, plaster repair, and minor plumbing
• Assisting with ad-hoc duties to support the facility's operations
• Ensuring the upkeep of outdoor and indoor areas to a high standard

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Prior experience in groundskeeping, general labour, or maintenance roles (experience in aged care or not-for-profit sectors is a bonus but not essential)
• Minimum Experience Required: A minimum of 2+ years of groundskeeping or general maintenance experience is essential for this role
• Maintenance Skills: Basic familiarity with maintenance tasks including painting, plastering, and plumbing is required
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and twisting
• Attributes: Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently or in a team. Strong work ethic, good time management, and a proactive approach to completing tasks

• Requirements:

• Current National Police Check

• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication
• Australian work rights

• Hourly Rate: $29.85 per hour
