About the opportunity:

As a Chef with Carinity you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the daily lives of our residents by creating fresh, high quality meals that balance nutritional needs with personal choice. You will oversee and support the kitchen team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-standard food service in a warm and welcoming environment.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals that cater to residents' dietary needs and choices
  • Work alongside care staff to ensure menus align with individual health and nutrition requirements
  • Supervise and support kitchen and hospitality staff in their daily tasks
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well organised kitchen environment in line with food safety standards
  • Contribute to a warm, welcoming dining experience where residents feel valued and respected
  • Communicate with residents, families, staff, and suppliers with professionalism and empathy

About you:You're a qualified and passionate Chef who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in creating meals that make a difference. With strong communication and organisational skills, you're able to balance multiple priorities while keeping the resident at the heart of everything you do.

You will also bring:

  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
  • Experience in large scale food preparation (aged care or healthcare)
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Workplace Health & Safety
  • Compassion and a genuine interest in supporting older people's dignity and independence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening or Police Check

Location:Carinity - Fairfield Grange is a beautifully designed aged care facility offering all levels of care to residents. This master planned site is located in Townsville, only walking distance to cafés, a range of convenience stores and a medical centre. Carinity is a smoke free environment.
