Woolooga, Queensland

This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence on-site—supporting Australia's clean energy transition while working alongside an experienced construction and delivery team.

About The Role
As our
Woolooga Site HSE Advisor
, you'll work closely with the
Site HSE Manager
and site leadership team to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are effectively implemented and maintained throughout project delivery.

Your day-to-day will involve supporting workers and supervisors to operate safely, conducting inspections and audits, assisting with incident investigations, and fostering a strong, positive safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and Monitor HSE Systems: Support the Site HSE Manager in applying INTEC's Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS), ensuring daily compliance with procedures, checklists, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct Inspections and Reporting: Carry out regular site inspections and audits, identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and maintain accurate safety records and reports.
  • Incident and Emergency Support: Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, emergency response preparation, and contribute to developing preventative measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage and Educate Site Personnel: Promote safe work practices by delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and training, while engaging directly with workers and supervisors to reinforce a positive safety culture.
  • Environmental and Compliance Oversight: Monitor environmental risks such as waste, dust, and spills, ensure mitigation measures are in place, and support compliance with relevant HSE laws, standards, and codes of practice.

You Will Ideally Bring

  • Proven On-Site Experience: 2–3 years in an HSE role within civil construction or a similar site-based environment, ideally with exposure to large-scale renewable energy, solar, or BESS projects.
  • Solid HSE Knowledge: Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk management, and the practical application of safety systems and procedures.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or currently working towards), with current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to engage confidently with workers, supervisors, and subcontractors, promoting a proactive and collaborative safety culture on-site.
  • Attention to Detail and Initiative: Competence in maintaining safety documentation and reporting, combined with a hands-on approach to identifying and resolving HSE issues in the field.
