Weekend Chef/Cook- Residential Aged Care

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team at mecwacare John Hood Terrace, our newly redeveloped 77-room residential aged care home, located in the vibrant heart of Richmond.  In this dynamic and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents. Your strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team will contribute to an exceptional dining experience.

What you bring:

  • Previous experience working in aged care, healthcare, or a similar environment
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting meals for large groups
  • Sound knowledge of food safety standards and compliance (including Food Safety Supervisor certification)
  • Experience in the preparation and presentation of food for different culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff
  • Proven experience in preparing and presenting meals for large groups
